Mary Bernadette (Klauke) Riddick

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Nana, Mary Bernadette Riddick on Tuesday, September 27 in her 77th year. She passed away peacefully at Serenity Retirement Residences surrounded by loved ones. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 53 years, John Wayne Riddick who left us in February. Loving mother to Ian (Heather), Heather Traverse (John) and Neal (Cindy). Proud Nana to her grandchildren Cameron, Alyssa, Mason, Nolan, Liam and Emma. Beloved sister to Leo (Betty) and aunt to Tara (Drago), Brenda (Joe) and Kevin (Rosie).

Mary Bernadette “Bernie” was born on April 21st, 1945, in England to Jerry and Margaret Klauke. The family moved to Canada and settled in Richmond Hill. Bernadette met Wayne through mutual friends at Harvey’s drive-in diner in Richmond Hill in 1965. They married in 1968 and settled down a few years later in North York where they raised their 3 children. Bernadette stayed home to raise her children and rejoined the work force when they went to high school. Bernadette worked at TD Canada Trust for many years where she formed many lasting friendships.

We would like to give special thanks to the staff at Serenity Retirement Residences for making her time there as comfortable as possible and for their friendship, compassion, empathy and love. They all held a special place in her heart and now ours.

There will be a visitation on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM with a service to follow at 1 PM with a reception to follow at the Innisfil Funeral Home. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person.  Words of comfort for the family may be left on the Tribute Wall.
