April 15, 1932 — March 4, 2021

FORS, Lorraine -  age 88 of Innisfil, Ontario passed away peacefully Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. Lorraine was born Lorraine McAlpine Nairn on April 15, 1932, in Toronto, to Lawrence Graham Nairn and Aileen Nairn (nee McAlpine). She attended the University of Toronto and graduated as a physiotherapist in 1955.  Lorraine remained active in the organization of her university alumni reunions and still met regularly and played bridge with several of her classmates.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arne Ivar Fors whom she met while they were students at University of Toronto and by their children Stephen (Laurie), Sheila Leask (Frank), and Murray (Janice Moore). Her two brothers are J. Graham Nairn (predeceased) (Kathleen), and James Nairn (Jane) and brothers and sisters in law are Eric Fors (Nancy), Aileen Watson (Dr. David Watson) (both predeceased), and Anne Beyers. She was Nana to and proud of Catherine (Dylan Baker) and Andrew Fors, Emily, Eric and Stephanie Leask, and Robert and Philip Fors. She was also very fond of all her numerous Canadian and American nieces and nephews. She was an accomplished cook who loved to entertain her family and friends. She was an avid reader, gardener, enthusiastic skier and sailor. Everyone gathered at the homestead in Nobleton for an annual corn roast for over 40 years, where all were made to feel welcome. She enjoyed family ski trips, many summers spent at Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay with her children and grandchildren, and trips and cruises all over the world with Arne.

A small private service will be held shortly, with plans for a celebration of life this summer. Although donations, flowers and cards are not expected, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice, or you may honour Lorraine by performing an act of kindness in her memory

Funeral service will be live streamed on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Link to access live stream: www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/11482
