It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Harry “Karl” Mills on April 19, 2022 at
the age of 75. Karl was born in Toronto and passed away in his home in Innisfil. Karl
was predeceased by his parents Delphin and Marguerite Mills. He is survived by his
loving wife Elaine of 52 years; his children Lily and Duncan (Niki) whom he loved dearly;
and was a very proud Poppa to his two granddaughters Madeleine and Abbey. Karl is
also survived by his brother Charles Mills (Jan) and sister Sandra Kidd (Selby) and his
nieces and nephews
Karl graduated from York University and spent his career teaching starting in the
elementary section of education and moving into the Junior High/Middle School level
where he taught Music, Math and History. In retirement he used his teaching abilities
and volunteered with the Scottish Rite which offers tutoring to dyslexic children. Karl
enjoyed woodworking and would spend hours in his man cave (the garage) working
and creating projects out of wood. He became warden of his community church until
his illness in 2021.
We will love you always and miss you forever. You will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to The Scottish Rite Charitable
Foundation Barrie Learning Centre which offers remedial tutoring of children with
dyslexia or the RVH Foundation (Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre).
To enter each day with a generous heart.
To serve the call of courage and love
Until we see your beautiful face again
In that land where there is no more separation,
Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,
And where we will never lose you again.
