H. Audrey Emms

March 5, 1924 — January 5, 2022

Emms, H. Audrey (Cook), in her 98th year. Born March 5, 1924 in Wasaga Beach to Fred and Clara Cook. Sister (with many good stories) to June (Stan Brown), Fay (Bill Gee) and predeceased by brother Cyril (Edythe). Proud wife of 67 years to Everett Emms who passed in 2012. They had 4 children – Cherie, Kerry, Randy and Lisa, 8 grandchildren (Amy, Tim, Cara, Kyle, Shane, Adam, Jake and Matt) and now 12 great grandchildren with more to come. Both our mom and dad were very active in the United Church of Canada. Mom was past president of the ladies UCW at the local level (Burton Ave), the Simcoe County level, the Toronto Conference level and proudly of the National level. She had the pleasure of meeting many women and Ministers with the opportunity to speak to so many congregations throughout her busy years. She also had fond memories of the New Lowel United Church. Dad had a long career at GE while mom had her gardens and M’s antiques. She sold them from our home for many years, including the table we were all sitting at for a Thanksgiving meal one year! They went to many auctions together, she was always interested in glass, dolls and furniture - mom would refinish the furniture and dad would cane the chairs. Mom had many nieces, nephews and cousins on the Cook side and of course the Emms gang which seemed to be endless with relatives. Friends from church, Allandale, Tollendal, New Lowel, IOOF Condo, and of course their beach house in Texas. She was able to live independently until early Dec. and only had a short journey at RVH. We would like to thank all the PSWs, nurses and doctors both while at home and in her hospital stay.  Special thanks to her “friend” Dr Van Zyl for his continued care. Donation in Audrey’s memory would be appreciated through your church, RVH, Hospice or a charity of your choice. Family and friends are welcome to share written condolences, memories and photos by visiting Innisfil Funeral Home’s website. (innisfilfuneralhome.ca)  A family celebration will be held in the spring.
