Ernest Paul Crowder

March 3, 1967 — July 27, 2022

Paul’s family sadly announces his passing at home in Innisfil. Survived by his loving wife, best friend and indefatigable caregiver, Robin (MacLeod) and their children, Daniel, Adam (Shelby Kuhling) and Maeghan (Don Hellier). Paul dearly loved his grandchildren, Hannah, Jonah, Kaydence, Bentley and Sunny. Paul was predeceased by his father, Bruce (2001). Survived by his dear mother, Grace (Eade) and siblings Carolyn Woodman, Don (Cherlyn), Connie Tinney, Judy Crute (Craig). Fondly remembered by his in-laws, Jackie and Gary MacLeod and brother-in-law Gavin (Suzanne). Paul was that cool uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The youngest of five, Paul was born and grew up in Richmond Hill where he met Robin in eighth grade. They later married and enjoyed 35 beautiful years together, making Innisfil home for their children. Paul inherited a love of building things from his father and also enjoyed many memorable camping trips, boating and, most of all, epic motorcycle rides.

Paul was an excellent provider, a loving son, a beloved brother and wonderfully devoted father, who taught strength and integrity, demonstrated working hard, about being hands on, self sufficiency and finishing things started.

Passing on his apptitude for playing games and showing gamesmanship, building projects and gadgets with his kids and later, their kids; Paul took them to car shows and worked on engines with Adam, which in turn laid the foundations for his career. Paul parented with a mentoring hand, lovingly shaping the futures of his children. Nieces and nephews even gained knowledge and skills to employ in life, from their uncle's examples and attentions.

Paul was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a hand or tool, collaborating on many projects or by sharing his helpful tips and tricks, for making, maintaining or repairing. Many a home, patio or vehicle, including his own, boast the benefit of Paul's many skilled talents.

At the YMCA, Paul was a daily fixture at the gym, working out at first as health rehabilitation, then growing into a mission to gain the best physical health of his life ~ which he accomplished; ever ready to coach, spot and encourage others to excel alongside.

In his lifetime Paul made many lifelong and meaningful friendships, all of whom will greatly miss his sense of humour, quiet strength, and competitive gamesmanship.

Paul faced his many health challenges with bravery, determination and optimism. When recently diagnosed with cancer, Paul endeavoured to remain positive, telling us all not to be sorry, with a calming warmth in his deep blue eyes. Those who knew him will continue to be inspired by his courage, kindness, and beautiful smile. Paul will live forever in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Diabetes Canada (formerly the Canadian Diabetes Association).  Words of comfort may be given through Innisfil Funeral Home by visiting www.innisfilfuneralhome.ca
