It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan on August 19th, 2019 at St. Michael’s Hospital, after a brave struggle against a sudden devastating illness which he fought with patience, dignity and a quiet strength. Alan was the beloved younger son of Dick and Dorothy (nee Watt), brother of Judy Gilbert (Steve) and the late Bob Worgan (2018), uncle of Kate, Matt (Ania), Erin (Jenna), Evan and Maverick. Great uncle of Lauren, Jackson and Leo. In his youth, Alan excelled at hockey and lacrosse. After graduation from Western University he created his own successful investment company after working in the finance industry. He was also a skilled woodworker and enjoyed cooking. In spite of health challenges over the last number of years, he regained his health after a successful kidney transplant in 2016 and enjoyed his independence once again until a very recent setback. A Graveside service in honour of Alan will be held on Friday, August 30th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Churchill, Ontario at St. Peter’s Anglican Church with a reception to follow in the church. Donations in memory of Alan may be made to St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Blood Services.
