Mary Arlene Milward

January 5, 1947 ~ December 12, 2019 (age 72)

Tribute

Arlene Milward passed away Thursday evening, December 12, 2019 in Barrie, Ontario. Born in Sudbury, Ontario she moved to Mississauga to raise her two children, Stacey Irving and Michael Holyman before returning to Sudbury and finally winding up in the Town of Barrie. Arlene “Grimm Grams” touched the lives of many people in her 72 years here, but none more so than those of her grandchildren, Keila and Connor Irving and Meaghan Holyman and her Daughter-in-Law Rebecca Holyman and Son-in-Law Jason Irving. She is survived by her sisters Maya, Rena and Sharon Dominelli and her husband Bruno, her brother Lloyd, his wife Claire, and all of the nieces and nephews. Arlene loved to read and keep up on current events and could be counted on for many “spirited” discussions on a wide array of topics. Fiercely competitive when it came to cards, she loved spending time with friends in the local seniors groups playing any game that was afoot with her grandchildren and son-in-law attesting to the fact that she would never “give” you a game if you didn’t earn it! She will be missed by everyone she touched. While the fact is, we all have a limited time here, leaving a lasting impression and making people better for it is a life fulfilled. Thank you Arlene/Grandma/Grimm Grams for all you gave this world and while we can’t speak in person, you are always in our thoughts. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 12th, 2020 at Collier United Church located at 112 Collier Street in Barrie from 2pm – 4pm. There is limited parking available at the Church with additional free street parking and indoor parking at the building next door. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
