Traditional Services

We can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love.  And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.

Visitation

This time is set aside for family and friends to gather together to say goodbye, while being in the comfort of those closest to them. We can personalize the visitation to be as unique as your loved one with a tribute video, items or displays that were important to your loved one, or simply pictures displayed. We will work with your family to design the perfect gathering experience.

Funeral Service

The funeral service can be held in our chapel, a church, or any other venue the family chooses. We work with our families to design a service that honors their loved one with stories, music, or scripture. We also have life celebrants that lead services where clergy may not be chosen. Our celebrants are trained in creating experiences that help start the healing process.

Graveside Service

A graveside or committal service is typically held immediately following the funeral service but it can also be a small intimate gathering of those closest to you.

Entombment

Entombment in a private mausoleum instead of a grave.

BURIAL

The option of burial is available whether your family currently owns a plot or wishes to purchase a new grave(s). Most cemeteries in this area have graves available for purchase. A recent study has determined that in North America, based on current cemeteries in operation, there is enough burial land to last the next 30 years.

Located within the Innisfil/Barrie area there are several cemeteries; Innisvale Cemetery & Crematorium, St. James, Sixth Line, St. Paul's Anglican, Barrie Union, St. Mary's Catholic, Thornton Union, Ivy Anglican, Ivy Presbyterian, Cookstown United, and St. John's Anglican.

It should be noted that these cemeteries may have policies in place that limit burials to families with immediate connections to the community. As these smaller cemeteries approach capacity, guidelines have been implemented to ensure that locals have access to plots. Although we do not sell plots, feel free to contact our office and we will assist you in finding the name and phone number of the cemetery contact person(s).

Burial outside of the local area is very common related to the fact that much of the population of this area is composed of families who have relocated from other communities. We can arrange for burials within Ontario, Canada, and worldwide. Specific requests can be addressed by contacting our office.

ENTOMBMENT

A limited number of cemeteries also offer entombment. As an alternative to burial in the ground, the casket is placed on a wall above the ground. These buildings, often referred to as mausoleums, will vary greatly in size and style depending on their location. Some mausoleum spaces are located in exterior structures and others are accessed from the inside of large buildings. It should be noted that this method of disposition is more expensive than burial. In this immediate area, Innisvale Cemetery & Crematorium in Innisfil is the only location that currently has an inventory of entombment space available for immediate sale. A select number of cemeteries offer space for private mausoleums. A private mausoleum is a structure that belongs to one family only; the owner has control over who will be entombed. The privilege of private entombment will understandably come at a higher cost.
